Made for More

It’s easy to see the world is not as it ought to be. Struggle, pain, and suffering come into our life unannounced and rarely with a simple answer. The question arises, if we are not at peace in this world then what are we truly made for?

This year, we intend to dive into that question by following the liturgical calendar and reflecting on the upcoming Sunday Mass readings during our weekly ministry. Each week will be based on a phrase, "Made for _____", depending on the heart of the scripture being proclaimed at Mass. As stated in "Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry", our goals remain:

  • To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.

  • To draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.

  • To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.

Content nights will include personal testimony from one of our volunteers, a large group activity that correlates with our theme for the night, small group discussion time, and an opportunity to reflect on questions intended to promote critical thinking. Other nights may include more community building or prayer opportunities.

Below is a list of our themes for each week leading up to Christmas:

September 21st and 22nd - Made for More

September 28th and 29th - Made for Relationship

October 6th - Adoration Night

October 12th and 13th - Made for Service

October 19th and 20th - Made for Courage

October 26th and 27th - Made for Love

November 3rd - Adoration Night

November 9th and 10th - Made for Eternity

November 16th and 17th - Made for Glory

November 23th and 24th - *Thanksgiving Break!*

December 1st - Adoration Night

December 8th and 9th - Made for Joy

December 15th and 16th - Made to Receive

Every opportunity we have as a youth ministry team, we will proclaim the love that God has for each individual soul and invite youth to respond to that never-ending love. We believe only the Holy Spirit can do the work of conversion so prayer will be the foundation and guiding power of the ministry.

Please pray with us for the salvation of souls and the uplifting of many due to the efforts of this youth ministry program.

God Bless!
